I am a bulldog. I have epilepsy. I persereve.
Sunday, June 15th 2008. This is the night my life changed forever. After playing at the park, Vegas (just 10 months old) started foaming at the mouth and his entire body was spasming. I had no idea what was going on. I thought my baby boy had been poisoned. It was midnight & the closest ER clinic was 45 mins away. It was the longest and scariest 45 mins of my life. Whatever was wrong with him continued during our drive. We called ahead and they met us in the parking lot with a team of people to take him in. They put him on the crash table. His body temp was 108, pulse rate was 248 and his respiratory rate was 52. Sitting in the ER that night, I didn’t think Vegas would be coming home. That night, Vegas was diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy. I’m happy to say Vegas just celebrated his 9th birthday (yes 9th!!) in Aug. He suffers from grandmal seizures every 3 to 6 wks and being a brachycephalic breed with epilepsy…. It’s a miracle that Vegas is still with us today. He is a blessing.
